Confused by the evidential mood (renarrative) in Bulgarian

I’m prepping for an exam and the evidential mood is my biggest hurdle. It feels so foreign to report things I didn't personally see using specific verb forms. Does anyone have a good strategy for practicing this for test scenarios? I need to show I can use it correctly to pass the assessment, and I'm struggling to distinguish when to use the 'L-participle' versus standard past tense.
