I’m heading to Guangdong soon and I’m terrified that my HK-Cantonese study materials won't be understood. I have the basic phrases down, but I’m worried about the regional variation in slang and particle usage being a barrier for a traveler. Should I just stick to standard HK Cantonese, or will that make me stand out too much in inland areas?
