Why is my Catalan vowel reduction still so inconsistent?

I’ve been recording myself reading out loud to fix my vowels, but I struggle knowing when to reduce 'a' and 'e' to a schwa, especially since my teacher from Valencia pronounces things differently than the standard Central Catalan I hear in podcasts. It feels like my brain is stuck between two phonological systems. How do you all standardize your speech when you're still early in your journey?
