Moving from subtitles to native content: how do you deal with the lack of 'nikkud'?

Posted by u/immersionlearnertr_345 / May 30, 2026

I’ve been watching Israeli shows with English subtitles for ages, but the moment I turn them off, I’m completely lost. I find reading Hebrew without vowels incredibly taxing because I can't guess the word structure fast enough. My reading speed hits a wall immediately. Is there a recommended way to bridge the gap from vowel-heavy textbook Hebrew to the fast-paced, un-voweled reality of native scripts?
