20 minutes a day: Should I prioritize vocabulary or getting comfortable with the Igbo sound inventory?

Posted by u/busyprofessional_216 / May 30, 2026

I’m a busy professional with very limited time. I’ve reached a point where I can recognize basic nouns, but the specific Igbo sounds (like the 'gb' and 'kp' implosives) are still awkward for me to produce. Given my 20-minute daily limit, is it better to focus on high-frequency phrases for travel or should I drill those unique consonants every single day until they sound natural?
