Struggling with the high/low tone markings—do you actually write them in daily Igbo texts?

I’m an absolute beginner bouncing between three different apps, and they all handle tone marking differently (or ignore it entirely). When I look at casual texts or social media, the marks are almost always missing. How am I supposed to learn the correct pronunciation of words like 'akwa' (egg vs. cry vs. bridge) if the written system I’m practicing with is so inconsistent? Should I stick to a resource that forces me to write the diacritics, or will move away from them eventually?
